Jackson County Public Transit is for everyone and there are no requirements to ride. We proudly serve all residents of Jackson County, including older adults and people with disabilities.
Call at least 48 hours in advance, as trips are first-come, first-served. Next-day and same-day trips can be scheduled, if available.

All trip requests must be made in advance by contacting the dispatch office. Drivers are not permitted to accept trip requests. At the time of scheduling, passengers may be required to provide the following information: name, home address, telephone number, pick-up and drop-off addresses, requested arrival or departure time, Social Security number for medical-related trips, and any necessary special accommodations.
JCPT can take you anywhere you need to go in the county! We’re here for all riders for any reason. You can use JCPT for work, school, the grocery, medical appointments, to visit friends and family, or anything else you need. For trips outside Jackson County, we partner with transit services in neighboring counties. Please call for more details!
Staying affordable is important to us. Our one-way fare rates are listed below. Personal care attendants ride fare-free. Mileage is calculated by the distance between the pick up and drop off locations.

0–5 miles = $2.00
6–10 miles = $ 3.00
11+ miles = $ 4.00 (in-county only)
Yes. All our vehicles are ADA accessible, equipped with lifts, ramps and mobility device securement. Our drivers are trained to secure wheelchairs, help with packages and assist with seatbelts as needed. JCPT is a door-to-door service, meaning your driver will meet you at your door for boarding and drop-off. Please note that drivers are not permitted to enter a residence or building.

Drivers are not required to assist with transporting items from the vehicle to the residence or building. An escort or personal care attendant may accompany you.
Scheduling a ride is easy! Call us at 740-286-JCPT (5278). We ask that you call at least 48 hours in advance, as trips are first-come, first-served. Next-day and same-day trips can be scheduled, if available.
We’ll confirm your pick-up time when you call to schedule your ride, and riders will receive a confirmation call the night before. The vehicle can arrive between 15 minutes before and 15 minutes after your scheduled pick-up time.
Please contact dispatch as soon as possible if you need to cancel a trip. Early notice helps us serve other riders. Scheduled trips are to be canceled at least one (1) hour prior to the time of the trip request. Any scheduled trip not canceled within that window will be considered a no show and will be logged as such.
Passengers with a no-show rate of 25% or higher within a 30-day period may receive a written warning. The no-show policy applies to passengers who schedule at least three (3) trips in a calendar month. Repeated no-shows may result in progressive corrective action, including possible suspension of services.

The length of a passenger’s suspension will adhere to the progressive corrective action plan described as follows:

Three missed pick-ups in 30-day period: Verbal Warning

Second violation of 3 missed pick-ups in a 30-day period: 10 days

Third violation of 3 missed pick-ups in a 30-day period: 20 days

Fourth violation in a rolling 6-month period: 14 days

Fourth violation of 3 missed pick-ups in a 30-day period: 25 days

Fifth violation in a rolling 6-month period: 21 days

Fifth violation of 3 missed pick-ups in a 30-day period: 30 days

Sixth and subsequent violations in a rolling 6-month period: 30 days

All penalties imposed under this policy are first subject to an appeals process
Drivers will wait 5 minutes after scheduled pickup time at the pickup location before marking a no-show.
Passengers with three (3) no-shows may be placed on a no-ride status for up to ten days.
No-shows will be excused for emergencies or circumstances beyond the passenger’s control, as determined by dispatch.
JCPT is available to all riders for any reason and can take you anywhere within the county.
It can be used for errands, commuting to and from work, medical appointments, or visiting friends or family. For trips outside Jackson County, we partner with transit services in neighboring counties; please call for more details!
We can pick up riders Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
Only trained service animals are permitted.
Yes. Jackson County Public Transit is a shared ride service, so you may be joined by other riders traveling nearby. This helps us keep fares affordable and extend service to more riders across the county.

Riders are expected to be respectful and courteous to others. Please do not eat, drink, smoke, vape, chew tobacco, play loud music, engage in loud conversation, curse, touch or disturb others in the vehicle.
